Ideas exhibition: online and at the BCA
Ideas exhibition—online
Welcome to the online exhibition showcasing all of the submissions for the inside::out competition. Exciting ideas came to us from talented designers across the United States. Students, artists, landscape architects, architects, and urban designers all gave vision to the challenge set forth in the competition brief. The design jury met in an all-day session to select the five finalists presented here.
The jury met in an all day session to select the initial five finalists from the ideas::phase I submissions. These finalists each made presentations the public in a well-attended community review event in June. The finalists were asked to revise their entries in lieu of comments made by the community and to identify full project teams. The jury reconvened in July to carefully review the final submissions and to select a winner. After reviewing each proposal in light of the program criteria and goals, the winning entry by patterhn design + Burck Associates, Inc. was selected as the winner.
All of the finalist’s submissions represented a great understanding of the site and it’s importance in the BCA’s future. Please look for the jury’s comments from the initial jury meeting that accompany each of the finalist’s schemes. They are included to give you insight into the jury process, and further pique your interest.
