What's Your View?
With over 125 years behind it, the Cyclorama has contributed to the character of many different visions of the community. Each generation through time has experienced this building from a different perspective. Our proposal emphasizes these visions through history. By drawing upon the rich history of events on the site such as the popular community Farmer’s Market and the public Flower Exchange, we can build on the visions of the past. The BCA will incorporate different visual moments of the history of the site through serigraphy tiles, garden blocks and public art squares. The BCA draws participation from the community through pedestrian and vehicular views culminating with neighborhood views from the rooftop. Visual moments help to shape blocks of contemporary art, outdoor performance spaces, and experimental landscaping, developing a community vision of the future and the great things that will come of the Boston Center for the Arts.
