Urban Weave
URBAN FABRIC, weaves the existing cultural and social context through the site, offering a unique cross programmed BCA experience. The BCA interacts between a series of programmatic HUBS that fluctuate through the site. Music, studio art displays, interactive theatre performances, studio productions and casual dining are programmatic events extended to the exterior of the site. The BCA is networked with a durable translucent canopy, offering splays to create openings for the programmatic HUBS. The canopy openings, accommodate user needs and provide the opportunity to explore various lighting conditions per the HUBS time of day and function. The HUBS range between 20-160 visitor capacity per location, based on fluctuation. With the various art performances, studio productions, music and casual dining that occur, the HUBS can adapt to volume, based on size/season which events are programmed. The newly envisioned Cyclorama is an indoor panoramic exhibition space incorporating events planned by the BCA and Boston community, while maintaining its historic presence. The new context/condition of the Boston Center for the Arts, brands artistic creations displayed on site extremities per the adaptable HUBS.
